Guess Whose Coming to Dinner?

Somehow, I have to believe that the addition of a million or more consumers , that have been imported into the country, who have been added to the population , has some impact on food supplies.

Wonder how many grocery chains factored the new consumers in their planning.

In W Phoenix, Walmart can be pretty serendipitous. Dog and cat food run out on a regular basis.Ramen Noodle shelf is nearly always empty.

The big thing ! Prices have sky rocketed . A small tray of dog food from 77 cents to a dollar eight. Similar increases throughout the store

I created this based on catinfo.org, but changed it up since Cotton, my problem child, had grain allergies, struvite crystals, and random allergies to every type of food off and on. This one, she could tolerate. I was worried she was missing crucial parts of needed nutrition, but she’s over 16, outliving her siblings that ate store-bought cat food. Her blood work is amazing for her age (according to her vet).

Her meat of choice is chicken, cut into tiny pieces. I’d mix it up, freeze it in 1 oz portions, put those in a freezer bag, and unthaw a couple at a time. It was quite easy once we got into the routine. ps. the B vitamins taste icky. I could never find ones that didn’t.

I would mix up the fat I’d add - she really liked bacon grease best.

Cat Food - for Cotton ; based on 1 lb of meat & no Mg or Ph

1 lb meat
1100 mg Ca
77 IU Vitamin D
1700 mg fish oil
700 mg taurine
130 IU vitamin E
1/6 tsp table salt or 1/2 tsp lite salt (better)
1 1/3 oz chicken livers
2 T butter, melted
(2.27 mg or 1/12th tsp or 1/3rd dropper B1 & ½ dropper B 50 complex) OR 17 mg vitamin B Complex
Or 2 Nature Made Super B Complex Full Strength Mini Softgels

Notes:

A cat will eat 4-6 oz per day. For 4 oz/day, add 1000 mg l-methionine & 1 tsp probiotics
For 6 oz/day add 667 mg l-methionine & 2/3 tsp probiotics.

ps. skip the l-methionine!

I meant to delete that - it’s for cats with struvite crystals

Have seen evidence of 1 & 2 at the local Wally World. Frozen potatoes are available but the shelves are half empty, and packaged lunch meat is mostly ham and turkey products (the usual beefs and salamis are scarce).

Hi.

Toilet paper I can understand, but why cat food?

Best guess, the byproducts that make cat food are going into some other products?

Soylent green or maybe supply chain issues?

Oh, I’m sure they’re on some list - just not the ones I’ve found right now. Of course, KALE tops all the veggies. ;)

“Two was simple. Eight is more of a challenge.”

That’s putting it mildly!

In a former life I had three adults and three teen boys to feed 3/365. Between the garden, hunting, fishing and good old Aldi, we managed.

And I really enjoyed those years. I’m always up for a challenge. :)

So sorry you do not see what is really happening: this IS the demon rats fixing it ... for their masters whose agenda is the reset AFTER THE US falls into chaos. You are seeing the action plan being enacted. You are thinking it is just accidental slump covid driven, without recognizing that the covid plandemic was the firs tstep in the action plan to end the USA as a we the people constitutional republic.

Here in rural Missouri, I’m noticing mostly shortages of generic or store-brand items. At Wal Mart, their “Great Value” items are consistently out of stock these days

Also in rural Missouri and I concur.
