When I was a kid you could get a nickel for doing chores like washing windows for neighbors. I would take that nickel and buy a cone dipped in chocolate from the Dairy Queen. It took about 45 minutes to walk there but it was worth every step.

you got a ‘dipped’ for a nickel, I had to pay 25 cents for a dipped cone.

My folks would take my mom and six brothers and sisters to DQ when we were growing up and you could either get a vanilla cone or a Dilly bar. My dad didn’t want to remember 8 different orders. He’s 88 and we still give him hell about it.
