DC Comics’ Bisexual Climate Change-Fighting Superman Is Kryptonite to Sales
PJ Media ^ | 01/28/2022 | Matt Margolis

Last fall, we learned that DC Comics’ new incarnation of Superman, Jon Kent (the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane), would be less a superhero and more a social warrior, leaving the battling of supervillains to others while he tackled climate change. And in Superman: Son of Kal-El #5, it would be revealed he had a boyfriend.

"The idea of replacing Clark Kent with another straight white savior felt like a missed opportunity,” Tom Taylor, the writer of the new comic, said. So instead, Taylor revealed that the new Superman “had to have new fights — real world problems — that he could stand up to as one of the most powerful people in the world.”

While the left collectively cheered for DC Comic’s “bravery,” others lamented the blatant wokeness of the comic series. In addition to going woke with the social justice nonsense, DC Comics also changed Superman’s longstanding motto from “Truth, Justice, and the American Way” to” Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.” The company’s direction was enough for the comic’s colorist, Gabe Eltaeb, to quit DC Comics.

So, how did this new woke version of Superman do? Well, it turns out that going woke is kryptonite for comic sales. According to the site Bounding Into Comics, while orders for the comic had an initial boost, it went from the 6th-most comic book sold in November to not even breaking the top 50 in December.

“That’s right, the flagship Superman book at DC Comics is not on a Top 50 Comic Books by Units chart only 5 issues in,” the site reports.

“At least Archie had Betty and Veronica. “

A real plus.

People like this comic writer are the real ‘real world problem’.

As they say in Viet Nam, it’s Nguyen-Nyugen. If Superhomo catches on, another win for the LGBTQIA criwd. If he doesn’t, that destroys a patriotic icon, another win for the Wreck America crowd. No matter what, the issue is never the issue, the issue is always the revolution.

Boys and young men do not want to hear about f@ggots. They want a hero with whom they can empathize and live vicariously through his exploits.

Making him a f@ggot repulses normal people, which is the vast majority of them.

I know if I were transported back to comic book reading days, I’d much rather read an Archie comic, (and no offense but Archie is really lame), than a queer superman.

Archie pretty much pioneered queer comics. I may be wrong, but I think they were the first to put homos in their comics.

Ugh, I did not know that. That’s must have come after my time in the comic book realm.

It would seem to me, the target audience for comics is teen boys. Teen boys, in spite of what the left wants to think, want girls. A comic presenting a queer superhero is a major buzz kill. There is a reason the women are drawn the way they are in comic books.

My thoughts exactly. There were lots of sexy babes in comic books when I used to read them.

“Go away Gay Superman.”

Never thought we’d actually get to the days when someone would try to actually make SNL’s Ambiguously Gay Duo real.

That was my reaction when I first heard about it. It was big news at the time.

I also recall that one of the newspaper comics started doing queer stuff back in the 1990s. It was one I never liked much anyway and I can't remember the name of that strip. I remember it caused a big controversy when they did it.

I think it was "For Better or for Worse."
