Office romances between executives and their subordinates have been off limits in the corporate world for decades, because it destroys morale in the workplace. As well as giving an unfair, insider advantage to the participants.
It pays to be the boss.
Ask the Indo-Jamaican usurping the VP spot.
She can tell you about sleeping your way to the top.
As long as there are humans there will be office affairs and women climbing the ladder on their backs and getting movie parts on the casting couch. A company may be able to reduce its severity but it will always be with us.
Once upon a time, men and women met in school, dated, got married and then she became a simple housewife by age 22.
Then women entered the workforce a little more. They delayed marriage, some women rejecting the boys from school, hoping for someone more successful later. These working women dated people at work. Sometimes the boss. They got married. But they didn't become simple housewives. They stayed in the workforce and were perceived as getting special treatment because their husband was a big shot where they worked.
We keep trying to re-invent male-female relationships, but I don't think we're making anything better.
I’ll bet the other 63% are really pi$$ed off!
Four times that many have slept with voters and most of them get elected.
I’m sorry but how do they come up with these stats. They all seem like pulled out of a hat.
“And 37% Of Them Got Promoted For It”
what does that say about the other 63%? not hot enough in bed?
Before I retired, during my “career” in several departments, there always seemed to be a woman who rose high in the organization (in terms of pay) but didn’t seem to have any clearly defined role or responsibilities. These women were usually “friends” of one of the upper-level male managers.
so, where’s the downside here?
I have a family-run company. I also sleep with one of my top assistants. She definitely gets a say in compensation and running the company.
Of course, I am married to her as well.
The other employees don’t like it. But I tell them, I don’t care - they need to listen to their boss, who is also their mother.
Maybe I’m naive, but this seems excessively high.
37 percent got promoted for it
and the other 63 percent didn’t perform adequately?
Must have missed these articles during the Trump years???
These types of studies brings me to a couple of conclusions, based on my friends (female and male) and my own experiences.
Some women are naturally attracted to men in charge. It’s a restructuring of the desire for an alpha, in a world where betas are celebrated. Furthermore, between driving and work, a lot of times you spend more time M-F with coworkers, as opposed to significant others. So there is room for attraction and relationships to grow.
Not all men can resist the advances of an attractive woman, especially if they spend a lot of time together. The reverse is definitely not true 😀
The latter makes me think of an episode of Big Bang Theory. Leonard sleeps with a girl right after breaking up with Penny. At the end of the episode he says “I need to explain myself. She let me do it”. That pretty much sums up a lot of men.
Keep your hopes up, Brandon. There’s still a 15% chance that you will get lucky.
A lot of women want to climb the ladder that way.
