Starting to look a lot like 1941.

Germans might want to think about invading a little earlier in the year this time.

Let’s see what the impotent Germans do about this. Decertify Russian press Germany?

“failing to “preserve due impartiality””

That is exactly why all US mass media is permanently banned in my house.

The notion that Western media is “impartial” is wildly insane—and accusations that another country’s media is not impartial is the pot calling the kettle black.

“RT has channels in English, French and Spanish and launched its German-language satellite channel in December 2021”

If the German media is anything like the US media, I’m surprised it took Russia a month to shut them down. They don’t put up with crap like we do.

First sentence in a WIKI article --- "DW is a German public [de; lt] state-owned international broadcaster funded by the German federal tax budget.

Given state-ownership, while or in part, by so many of the "big brand" news these days, it seems we are watching the same-old-same-old as interests collide across national borders.

When living in Germany our mandatory "fee" was required to fund state-owned news. While in Britain the "Beeb" tax was collected. One only need survey the ownership of most of the "brand name" news in the US as well to find relatively few players atop the system.

It's amusing to observe the flap between German and Russian media, given an underlying fact that German chancellors -- plural -- have steered Germany to become dependent on Russian natural gas.

Ah, the tangled webs we weave....

Russia is perfectly within their rights to do this. The Germans likewise.

Tempest in a teapot.

Still pretty cold for Germany to be getting cocky.

It was fined £200,000 by UK regulator Ofcom for failing to "preserve due impartiality".

Oh that's rich. Coming from a country whose media is every bit as much a blatant propaganda organ for the government as the US media.

failing to "preserve due impartiality".

What a joke, looks like free speech is dead in the UK.
