I am unvaccinated.
About two months ago I was brought down by a TIA caused by blood clots.(I am 86 years old)
Their solution in the hospital was to put me on a blood thinner called ELIQUIS (apixiban) 5mg twice a day. - Tom
I took it for a time several years ago, but I had another medication at the time and I got into serious trouble, near death. I do not think that it was the Eliquis, but I have an old Army buddy who told me about his very bad reaction to it. He stopped taking it and recovered. In that I quit 2 meds at the same time, it is unclear just what caused my troubles, 1, the other, or the combination of both.
My issues also resolved quickly once I had my potential trouble causing meds DC’d.
I’m 62 and am unvaccinated. 3 months ago I had a bout of DVT in my left leg. It swelled up and was very painful. I’ve been on Xarelto ever since, and am doing fine.

In late November/to about Christmas before any of us knew about anything about Covid, I had an aortic stent installed to prevent TIA’s and some interesting non stent issues.
Post stent, I was put on a baby aspirin a day, another newer blood thinner and the drug Tom was put on: a blood thinner called ELIQUIS (apixiban) 5mg twice a day. My wife’s joke was if she looked me, I bruised.
Before and during all of this I was probably one of the first Americans to get the Chicom virus. No one knew what I had, and we still don’t.
After the stenting, I woke up with blood in my urine and my right kidney felt like a pro boxer. I was put on an oral Cephalosporin and Ultra sounds showed no real problem except what appeared to be a bruised kidney. This was not an issue with the stent.
My symptoms mimicked what, we now know about the ChiCom flu from lost of taste and smell, headache, and body ache to go with my sore kidney. The urologist put me on Tadafil/Cialis.
I also received my new Cpap machine. So in a way, I incubated myself at night. The Cephalosporin worked on any secondary infections as well my urinary tract infection.
My apparent big bit of serendipity luck was the blood thinners working then and later when I was vaccinated 2x with the Pfizer vaccine.
Medical people I have discussed the above with, say that I was very lucky re the treatments I had, and I probably had a covid infection.
By Christmas, I was basically well. Apparently, one of our sons did get the Covid virus. He was/is in contact with dozens of people each day. We don’t know if I gave him the virus or it was job related.
My roommate/best friend for 61 years was missed by whatever tagged our son and me.
A grandson, who was 19 then was, sick/ill for 2-3 days between Christmas and New Years. He went back to college with no problems. His older sister and parents had zero covid symptoms or problems.
