HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The panel that regulates the sale of alcohol in Pennsylvania has ordered the removal of Russian-made products to show solidarity and support for the people of Ukraine.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board took the action Sunday in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The board’s action comes as some other U.S. states have made similar moves, and bars and liquor stores have pulled Russian vodka off their shelves and promoted Ukrainian brands instead.
“Given the evolving political-economic climate, it’s just the right thing to do,” said chairman Tim Holden in a statement.
Pennsylvania ’s board instructed all Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores and licensee service centers to remove Russian-made products. In addition, Russian-made special order products will no longer be available.
The order has limited impact because only two affected products — Russian Standard and Ustianochka 80-proof vodkas — are stocked in Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores, the board said. It also said about a half-dozen special order brands come from Russia.

Leaving aside the political statement, or the taking of one side or another:
HOW THE HELL CAN THEY EVEN DO THAT???!?
Imagine that...I mentioned something similar years ago when blactivists in gubmint were voting the shares in pension funds they oversaw to further their agendas.
This is pure nonsense.
The stupidity, it burns!
Now I see how this country got fooled into WWI.
Virginia did it too. Dang! No good vodka for a while.
Two years from now it will be products which don't comply with woke lore.
So Ghey.
Just as stupid as Freedom Fries.
Saw this coming, bought two bottles of Stoli. yesterday.
Going to buy more today.
Sell it and give the profit to a Ukrainian Charity Center.
Freedom Fries!
ABSOLUT-ly?...................
Same idiocy here in Va. Ironically I did read the labels of vodka and gin bottles when looking for spirits for a party I had recently. NEWSFLASH! “Russian” vodka is made in Kentucky! Read the labels morons. The only thing russian is the name! In Russia, the only consumable vodka is Standard Vodka, IMO and it’s only for export. All real russian vodka costs 2 bucks a bottle and tastes like kerosine!
So, just pour it into new bottles, rename it and slap a “Bottled in the USA” label on it.
As long as they don’t ban gin, I’m OK.
The vodka oligarch has got to be really pissed at Putin.
In PA liquor stores are state run, so this nonsense came from Harrisburg.
Remember when the left mocked freedom fries and Bush’ warmongering as something evil?
Here - the leftists are suddenly pro-war, pro-jingoistic and virtue signaling like crazy to start WW3…
Yet our stores are filled with junk from Red China, and our people are riddled with Wu-flu...
In PA, a central state government organization decides what hard alcohol is allowed to be sold in stores (all of which are state run), they also control a monopoly of what brokers are allowed to purchase booze in the state. There was once a claim that they maintained the monopoly because it gave the state better buying power to get better prices, but enough residents have since gone to nearby states and seen that this was a lie. Basically it is Russia.
It's an empty gesture and the fact these government employees thought it was worth a press release is just one more reason to privatize the liquor stores. Russian standard was one of the better vodka options available in state stores. By the time it reaches the stores, the Russians had already been paid for weeks if not months. Meanwhile what happens to the thousands of cases of vodka already bought and in warehouses?
