Singing gay love songs once killed the careers of artists like Patrick Haggerty, whose band Lavender Country in 1973 released what's widely considered the first country album recorded by an out gay performer. Even artists who came out decades later, like k.d. lang and Chely Wright, said their careers stalled after they made their sexuality public.
Now, out queer people are some of the most celebrated country stars. Brandi Carlile and Lil Nas X are Grammy winners. T.J. Osborne, one half of the Brothers Osbourne, came out last year, the first out gay artist signed to a major country label. Trixie Mattel, who won her season of "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars," incorporates original music inspired by Loretta Lynn and June Carter Cash into her drag act. And Black queer artists like Allison Russell, Amythyst Kiah and Joy Oladokun are reaching audiences across genres.
Queer country artists are telling familiar stories -- first love, heartbreak and learning to heal -- from perspectives that were once shut out across the music industry. The sincerity and undeniable talent of country's queer performers are changing narrow ideas of what country music can be -- and who gets to perform it…

That is why the media and their disciples hates Putin so much. He stopped homosexual pairs [two homosexuals, male or female are not a couple. They are a pair.] from adopting Russian toddlers and infants. Then swapping them out and passing them around. The case is/was on the internet.
To be fair, a good song performed well, is just that; a good song performed well. Judas Priest is a stable in the metal genre and they have some great songs. The fact the sing ear is gay makes no difference.
It’s always funny how judgey the Jesus freaks act.
I’ve got an old Rowe jukebox, full of them. One of my favorites on the box.
In the late 1970s, Stafford was married briefly to singer-songwriter Bobbie Gentry,[4] and they have a son, Tyler Gentry Stafford.[10] Stafford was also married to Ann Britt Stafford for 24 years. She co-owned the Jim Stafford Theatre in Branson until December 2013.

“Old music now represents 70% of the US music market. Even worse: the new music market is actually shrinking,”

Ernest Tubb is buried in the same cemetery as my mom’s brothers and parents are. I’ve been to his grave.
Well, she shaved.

“Standing joke after he wrote “My Girl Bill”.
My girl Bill is not gay! Listen to the lyrics!
Bill, you know we just left her place,
And we both know what she said.
She doesn’t want to see your face,
And she wishes you were dead!
Now, I know we both love her,
And I guess we always will.
But you’re gonna have to find another,
‘Cause she’s my girl, Bill!
That reminds me the first time I heard the song I thought Rick Springfield was singing, “I wish that I was Jessie’s Girl.”
I’m not trying to be a smartass, just curious: what do you think of Carravagio, Durer or. Michelangelo ? I once read passing reference to homosexuality as “ the humanist disease” in a biography on Albrecht Durer.
Like it or not, a substantial proportion of the advances made in the Renaissance were made by homosexuals. It doesn’t diminish their work in my eyes because that issue seems insignificant beside what they accomplished.
Like you though, when I hear of this great homosexual artist I just know it` s going to be crap. Artists want universal recognition— targeting a particular market tells you there is limited appeal
I really should be more clear with my response. It’s not whether or not they’re homosexual. It’s the proud to be homosexual attitude. It’s the making a big deal of their homosexuality.
For what it’s worth, I have a homosexual son that is 50.
I don’t care that K.D. Lang is gay. I love her voice. It’s a little different now that she’s older but she still sounds great. Saw her in concert at The Greek Theatre a few years ago and was one of the best concerts I’ve been to because of the attendees. Laid back, older crowd.
Right after that saw Lana Del Rey at the Hollywood Bowl. Two of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
You’re sort of like me. Even though I wouldn’t like some of the singers I listen to as my personal friends, my appreciation for good music crosses all boundaries. And they probably wouldn’t like me as a friend since I’d constantly be telling them to change their ways.
