Clearly there are forces that have been using Ukraine to prod the Russian bear for years (McCain/Graham/among others)...and the only reason to do so was to ‘provoke’ Russia to move into Ukraine so they could bring the weight of the world on Putin and hopefully bring about his downfall...and if that means killing a bunch of Ukrainians, and making millions refugees, so be it. That does not excuse Putin at all but it’s my reading of current events.
