So the bank makes a mistake and deposits $10M in my account, I take it out and spent it all. Two years later they discover their mistake and nothing is going to happen to me. It depends how wise you are when you spend it.
If I decided to go that route they would not ever find me so therefore nothing would happen to me.
(but I would not. Most likely I would put it in a cd at their bank and negotiate to keep whatever interest I accrued.)
