Gwyneth Paltrow won best actress, and I remember her pink gown and that she cried while making her acceptance speech.

She is like nails on a chalkboard to me now, altho I loved the film; but to be fair, I think her father had recently been diagnosed with a devastating cancer, and she teared up when mentioning his name, if I recall correctly. Gotta give her a pass on that.
