I think we are dealing with something inter-dimensional, or they flat out exist here and have forever and I think this goes back eons and the Bible is more accurate than a lot of people are giving it credit for.
I don’t believe these goomers are here to help us if they were why haven’t they? I also don’t believe they can hurt us, yet. If they wanted too they could have long ago, so what or who is preventing this?
I think this is going to be something as basic as good vs. evil in the long run with Creator throwing a smack down on the enemies of man and those who collaborated with those enemies.
In addition to the Bible, there are plenty of other religions and myths that explain these phenomena in similar ways, right down to the alleged genetic manipulation reported by abductees.
Many people who report abduction experiences speak of these events as having a "spiritual" or New Age aspect to them for whatever reason.
Budd Hopkins, John Mack, and David Jacobs reported messianic themes to abduction experiences (and this comes from otherwise non-religious people).

Yep, absolutely, metaphorically the Bible alludes to this very real possibility.

1. Because to intervene even in the slightest would change history, which would in turn change the future.

2. They have no want or need to hurt us, because “they” are us coming back from the future. So they are preventing change or harm to themselves or the future. “Why” in the what or who see #1.
They can’t... It would change too much future.
