That’s not the cops on the beat, that’s the police chiefs. Just like a general is a soldier/politician a police chief is a cop/politician.

What high respect I had for LEOs fades with each crime like this. The local cops are not authorized to speak to the media. Speaking the truth is no excuse to avoid disciplinary action.
The truth will come out in a day or two. It always does.

It's the press hiding the identity.
The press hides the idenity when the killer is black or illegal - because black democrats and illegals hold up the power of white liberal 'elites'.
If the killer had been a conservative Trump supporter his picture would be on the front page above the fold...
