It is funny, but again, it is the parents fault. Parents let them get what they want instead of working for it. My kids are hard working and so are their friends...
I’m a single parent (widower) with three kids, two that live with me and my 78 year old dad. One has autism, but will do what I ask, just doesn’t have initiative.
I modeled the “get up and do it yourself” behavior, but my wife did not. She was lazy, pure and simple. They modeled after her, more so than I, but the last 2 1/2 years I’m breaking them of it, slowly.
I also work 50-60 hours a week, and TRY to have a life outside of the house - although I usually don’t leave the 8 acres more than once a week - if that.
Most folks *I* know are doing the best we can, but times (and kids) are different now than when I was their age in the 80’s.
