Mother whose 'very tall and chunky' son, 11 months, fits into three-year-olds' clothing puts it down to overproducing breast milk

A mother whose baby wears clothes designed for three-year-olds has revealed that strangers have been left in shock by his size.

Alexa Priego, 31, from Manhattan, New York, gave birth to baby Kason 11 months ago and claims his size often fools people.

The mother-of three's youngest son was born at a normal weight of 7lb 14oz but became huge after two months of breastfeeding.

Alexa, who works as a hospital administrator, said people often stop her in the street because they're stunned by his size.

Now 11 months old, baby Kason weighs around the same as a two-year-old at 31lbs and fits in clothing for three year olds.

Alexa said: 'He is the heaviest baby in the whole world.

'He's very tall and very chunky - doctors said he is in the 99th percentile for weight and height.

'When people see him they ask his age, and they are shocked when I say 11 months because they expect him to be older.

'People are so amazed by it - but when my daughter was born, she was exactly the same.

'I guess I just make big babies!'

Alexa, who is also mother to Owen, 10, and Gracie, four, claims doctors told her that she overproduces milk which could contribute to Kason's huge size.

After being breastfed for several months, he was moved onto formula and recently Alexa has been doing baby-led weaning.

She said despite what people might think, Kason is a totally healthy baby.

Alexa continued: 'He is the easiest baby to look after - he's so easygoing and always smiles at people.

'He crawls and can walk when he holds onto the side of the couch and tries to stand on everything.

'He is a very active boy. He crawls really fast too - he's very speedy

My oldest son was like this when he was a baby. I love the pic of her son in a cartman outfit! It was unexpected and hilarious.

My son had a very rapid growth rate both as an infant and through age 12. Already over 6ft by puberty and then it slowed down during his teen years, the opposite of most boys.

I seriously doubt it was the breastmilk although I was a prolific milker, I could’ve made bank as a wetnurse.

Just different genetics with a front-loaded growth rate.

99th percentile. Looks like a 18 month old from Guam. That a bit too chunky.

My nephew was like this. He was gigantic next to my kids. My oldest and he were born 3 days apart. Now my nephew is a crazy psychotic bum. Drugs or genetic idk. His father was a nut. Nice nut but a nut. My nephew is a big nut. I don’t check out to see if he is a nice nut because he is cray-cray.

Mom does not appear to be a high milk producer.

Sure hope that is the cause. Could be a medical problem.

It’s not how much extra milk mom makes, but how much the baby drinks.

I could have fed twins with my first one.

For my second, it’s likely I produced just as much, but my son could EAT. I never had any extra with him. He was also chunky as a baby, although not to this kid’s size.

I think he will be having weight problems as an adult. I’ve heard there’s a correlation between baby fat and adult fat later in life.

My second daughter was 33 pounds at 10 months.

It wasn’t special milk.

She just ate and grew.
