I got my kid a 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4cyl 5speed at a Mecum Auction for when he turned 16.

* He needed to learn how to drive a stick because we have a bunch of manual shift cars.

* None of his friends knew how to drive a stick so no one would drive his car.

* 4 cylinder means it goes really slow

* It was cheap so if it got wrecked and totaled it wouldn’t be a big hit.

* When he might bump into something and bend a bumper, I could order replacement parts on line and replace them myself.

* It’s a fun convertible in summer, a 4wd snow stormer in winter.

Hard to go wrong!
