The spread of the rare virus could “accelerate” in summer, the UN health body’s top official in Europe warns
Europe should expect a wave of monkeypox cases in the coming months, according to Hans Kluge, the World Health Organization’s top official on the continent.
“As we enter the summer season… with mass gatherings, festivals and parties, I am concerned that transmission [of monkeypox] could accelerate,” Kluge said on Friday.
The number of the infected could rise because “the cases currently being detected are among those engaging in sexual activity,” and many don’t recognize the symptoms, he added.

About a year ago I predicted that another pandemic would be declared as the midterm elections approached. But I guessed wrong; I said an Ebola-type infection. It’s Monkeypox instead.
Here come the mail-ins, uncertified and of unknown origin...
No so much any more.
Spend any amount of time talking to people under 40. It is all too common these days.
I never really “got” the attraction, but it is what it is.
Other stories name it, but kluge doesn’t.

He deliberately chose not to tell us that the disease is affecting primarily gay men.
Is this another of their scares? What? not enough crises in the past 2.5 years? Gotta find another one and make sure that everyone in the world knows that it’s spreading and Massachussetts bought millions of dollars worth worth of vaccine? Does this have something to do with Provincetown?

Yup. And the “mass gatherings, festivals and parties” that have been super spreader events so far have been a fetish festival in Antwerp, a huge Gay Pride event in the Canary Islands, and a gay orgy at a Spanish sauna. Somehow, I don’t think we need to worry about Fourth of July fireworks shows, Memorial Day picnics, summer craft shows, seafood festivals, or Vacation Bible School.
Must be rampant in liberal circles.
