Yeah. Sure thing.
I'm a boomer and have made fun of Abba since the 1970s. The ultimate Eurovision group (that's not a compliment).
They are the Ikea of music. Pretty on the outside, nothing on the inside. Very "acceptable" -- and Rock is not supposed to be "acceptable".
Abba is to music what Swedish Meatballs on Mashed Potatoes is to food. Edible. Filling. But hardly something to expand your palette. Shoot, the bloody Bee Gees are edgier than Abba!
I know there are a lot of people who like Abba to this day, including my 89 year-old mother (and, truth be told, if I hear them in the background, I won't complain as long as they stay in the background). God bless those people. Everybody is entitled to their musical preferences.
But the ultimate 70's group?
That is a massive stretch, at the very least.
What does the "Eurovision group" mean, as you used it?
Just looking at it, it appears to be an attempt to promote music by European groups in a forum that isn't subject to commercial pressures. For some reason, it reminds me of Canada's "Canadian content" regulations for their radio stations.
