This trial elicited testimony under oath that Hillary knew and approved of a “probably false” smear campaign and that the FBI knew it was false and decided it would be “a fun exercise” to go ahead and carry the ball on the whole thing.

In order to go after Hillary, they need to get convictions of lower rungs in the conspiracy chain. If Sussman’s acquitted then the whole case against higher ups may hit a fatal snag.
