I can see the electric bike strapped to RV’s as a cheap substitute for a Towed Vehicle.

Very true.

I bike daily out at the local state park (MTB the trails and road bike on the paved roads) and have noted that almost ALL the older RVer's have electric bikes attached.

I chat with them when possible and nearly all of those who ride electric bikes say they are in better shape for doing so. It's better to ride with electric assist than to merely sit and watch the beauty of nature.
