A damning report out of Florida’s Inspector General’s office, found that fired IT tech staffer Rebekah Jones was not a whistleblower, but rather a liar and a fraud.
Jones claims she was ordered to manipulate Florida’s COV dashboard in May 2020 to make Gov. DeSantis look better as he moved to re-open the state. The IG found her allegations “unsubstantiated” and “unfounded.”
The IG found there was little or no evidence to back up her claims.
The report indicated that she did not understand public health policy or the significance of epidemiological data. Additionally she did not even have high-level access to crucial information. The claims themselves lacked viability.
The woman caused significant harm to the credibility of the health department and three employees with her lies and ignorance. She is paying the price now.

On Monday’s The Lead, host Jake Tapper was the first on CNN to admit that former Florida Health Department website operator Rebekah Jones was found to have fabricated her claims that state officials with ties to Republican Governor Ron DeSantis pressured her to manipulate COVID data, according to an investigation by the Health Department’s inspector general. But even with this revelation, Tapper failed to apologize for how he and the “facts first” network helped to elevate the lies and disinformation.
“In our health lead now, ‘insufficient evidence,’ that’s what a new inspector general report says it found in response to Rebekah Jones’ accusations she was asked to falsify COVID data on Florida’s dashboard,” Tapper announced before handing the actual reporting to national correspondent Kristen Holmes; instead of going off on one of his infamous, self-righteous diatribes.
“Explosive claims from a prominent critic of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis were, quote, ‘unsubstantiated’ and ‘unfounded,’ according to an internal state investigation,” Holmes informed viewers.
Adding: “Now, in a 27-page report obtained by CNN and first reported by NBC News, the Florida Department of Health’s Office of the Inspector General says it found insufficient or no evidence to back up most of Jones’ claims, after interviews with over a dozen witnesses.”

Imagine believing a web designer hired to just put data in a pretty chart over the actual scientists who gathered the data.

When I saw what this woman was doing in her professional frame, I was astonished.
Her boss ordered her do change something, which she did, and then against explicit instructions against do that, changed it back and went on vacation.
Then when called on it again, locked out the other sysadmin so he couldn’t go in and correct it.
Astonishing. This was bad management too, but I wonder if she was threatening a sexual harassment lawsuit against her boss or something like that.
In any job I worked on, I would have been fired on the spot for doing ANY of the number of things she did.
Today, she's a worn out tool, discarded and forgotten, tossed under the bus. I'm sure that same lickspittle media that cheered her previously will cover her current state of affairs with at least as much enthusiasm as they did before.

It was almost immediately obvious that this woman was fabricating the entire bogus claim, had probable mental health and personality disorder issues, a criminal record and (going out on a limb), substance abuse problems.
But none of that stopped the MSM and establishment Dems from running with the story for weeks. “Getting” DeSantis was the mission, and anything that could create “bad press” for him, and by extension Trump was just too important to check.
It’s going to get spicy in the runup to the midterms, and 2024 should be a real doozy.
Just think, how fantastic the US would be if the damn media wasn’t full of morons.
And the end-result is now everybody is pissed off at them.
The media just caters to their audience.
They are certainly (mostly) morons. But they have also dropped all pretense of being anything other than nakedly motivated partisans.
Most just repeat the Democrat talking points of the day and try to drive whatever narrative helps their partisan masters.
When A lefty like Glen Greenwald has had enough and calls them out on the regular, as he does, you know it’s gotten into “beyond parody” territory.
