Trying to hold onto Mariupol through Lysychcansk, throwing the best UAF fighters into doomed cauldrons...
Looking back from a decade or 2 hence, holding the Dneper River with all the best troops would have been a much better strategy. Hold onto Kherson, Dnepro, and Odessa (Black Sea port access).
Instead, Ukraine loses all except maybe a Kiev/Lviv rump.

I see this as the “Silent Win”. Russia keeps doing its thing while left-wing western nerds keep propagandizing they are not.
The primary issue is nuclear war. Russia knows it cannot win an assault by all western armies combined. So, even with China’s possible help in a war, Russia would turn to nukes. Why not, since the US has a first strike policy anyway and could be the first to use nukes?
