We used to go down to the St. Louis riverfront for fireworks, aerial flybys from nearby Scott AFB, and firework displays that were dramatic. And the entertainment! Watched the Beach Boys, Dianna Ross and Ray Charles —his rendition of “America the Beautiful” had a crowd of 1/2 million on their feet and cheering. Good times!

I happen to be in St. Louis and I decided tonight to go to Chesterfield and watch the fireworks and not into the city. It’s just too dangerous anymore to be in the city of St. Louis with a number one in crime rate in the country. It’s a sad situation. The fireworks were 10 times better I’m sure at the St. Louis Riverfront. It’s just unsafe to be in the city anymore.
