The Daily Mail (I think they are conservative; UK paper) hates Trump. Anything they can do to smear Trump they will do.
So this fits their style, trying to attach this nutjob to Trump.
I’m not sure whether they hate Trump, but the Daily Mail is conservative. It is a middle-market newspaper.
Unfortunately, they are also very xenophobic towards all non-Britons - especially towards Germans, but sometimes even toward Americans.
This seems all the more astounding, as that the paper had supported both Hitler and Mussolini in the 1930s.
Maybe they had to gloss over their erstwhile attitude...
A kindly and very lovable British Freeper once explained to me that this paper, and many of their stories, had to be (I’m paraphrasing now) “enjoyed with a goodly amount of salt”. ;-)
