Annie had an incredible voice, but it was almost too perfect. She hit all those incredible notes, but I always thought she fell a little short in terms of conveying emotion with her voice.
Probably saved that for her husband........I don’t disagree on your point however. Females and emotions in rock music rode in on the Wilson sisters and then again in the chick bands of the 90s. Kate Bush was kinda an outlier in the 80’s.
