The most the man should have had to do was reimburse the neighbor for his roaster.

As usual the law favors the first complaint.

The lesson here is; if your neighbor has an aggressive animal complain to the authorities.

There after you are on record of having complained about the animal should you need to kill the offending animal.

And complain in writing with copies sent to city council and the sheriff’s dept. or city police, not just the city or animal control in general. With highlighted copies of any relevant ordinances. Write it like it’s an affidavit. Use bullet points to highlight interactions with the problem animal. Pictures and dates.

It may seem fussy and Karen like, but it gets the attention of the legal department, because it is clearly laying the groundwork for a lawsuit. And just like that, the problem animals go away.

I did this when my neighbors allowed their druggie son to live in an RV with his multiple pitbulls and a german shepherd.
