Where do you get your statistics that most people drive less than 100 miles per day? Maybe where you live that is true, maybe your age, job etc makes that a true statement. Financially you maybe able to afford two vehicles, but not everybody can. We own two, one paid for older model for local trips one newer vehicle for other uses. I have a decent income, but could not afford an EV as a runabout and I dare say neither can a hefty percentage of Americans today. By the way where I live, it is a slow day if you drive only 100 miles.

EV are a great concept for urban areas, not as of yet for rural areas.

We are literally putting the government in control of whether or not we can recharge our vehicles or not. All they need to do is flip a switch and all EV drivers are confined to their home area.

I am pretty sure that the charger does some handshake with the car at the start of charging to query, for example, what the max amperage rate is.

It would be VERY easy to add a protocol to ask "what zip code are you registered to?". Or even "WHO are you registered to?"

We use one of our gas cars for trips or heavier driving days.

And when gas cars are banned? (Which is the plan) Or when the gas tax is raised to $10/gallon?

Your mileage is atypical.

Maybe in 2008 that was the case, have you tried flying recently? I have put atypical mileage on my new vehicle because fly was out of the question. That said, even in 2008 15% of household trips were 100 miles or more. The statistics are skewed because urban and suburban drivers tend to work closer to home. As I said EVs are great for urban areas, not so much for rural areas. Try finding statistics that are not 13 years old please.

Good advice.
Ditched the Mariner for a 2015 F150 SuperCrew with EcoBoost V6 engine. 21 to 32 MPG depending on how we drive it. Ethanol Free regular gas always. No more hybrids or EVs in my household.

Some folks are going to have to get stranded on the highways in northern climates in the dead of winter to “get it”.

It is best to learn lessons the hard way.

Glad you have an alternative—may need it with the promised rolling black/brown outs...

Nope, wrong assumption. I was not being facetious...I was being factual.

I have read much about EVs...and I would be happy to provide a factual commentary with links.

But hey, enjoy rest of your day.

"Make sure you enjoy that moment because the next one will be fury after you plug it into your house and the range attained after a full charge has no relation to the number suggested by the dealer, or the one written down in the car’s specification details.”

Not to worry. Once demRATs have forced everyone into electric cars, they'll start making energy efficiency regulations that require the vehicles go farther on less energy so the non driving majority will have fewer brownouts and blackouts. I suppose the manufacturers will respond by downsizing the EVs and making them lighter.

The democrats are deliberately raising the price of energy to keep us restricted in our traveling.
They raised the price of gas for your car to double or more. They are also raising the price of electricity so you cannot even charge the electric car cheaply.
