Imagine that, a car company making deceptive mileage claims. I never heard that before. They’ve only been doing it since EPA ratings were started. I have a Model S. Claims 400 miles per charge, but they only recommend doing a full charge if you’re going on a trip. I charge it to 90%. It claims my range is 350 miles. Reality, I get around 280 to 310, depending upon how fast I drive and how high I turn up the ac. Not a deal breaker by any stretch.

The difference is that everyday when I leave my home, my car is fully charged. Unlike an ICE car which is full only after a trip to the gas station.

Would I prefer that my car actually get 400 miles, of course, but the other benefits far out weigh this minor misrepresentation. Like being able to blow the doors off a Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Vette, etc. Or my autopilot taking me from Miami to Fort Lauderdale, with little intervention. Or the fact I have 18k miles with zero service expense. Or perhaps because the regenerative breaking makes it much safer cornering or following other cars. The author clearly does not know his excrement from a pizza.

”The difference is that everyday when I leave my home, my car is fully charged. “

Some of my electricity costs 20 cents per kilowatt-hour.

What do you pay and what is the cost per mile that you drive?
