Look, I know all about anecdotal evidence, but where I live (Buffalo), you see an awful lot of Trump banners (Both 2024 and 2020). People have left them up. You see MAGA hats, flags on trucks, bumper stickers. You see houses that are just festooned with signs and flags for Trump. Now, I know that you wouldn’t expect to see anything for Biden (or any other president halfway between elections), even if he was doing a great job, but there is a ton of uncommon support for Donald Trump. There may be many things you can say about President Trump, but “politically dead” is not one of them.

Cooke should know better what “politically dead” means. It means Muskie in ‘72, Humphrey in ‘80, George Allen Jr. after Macaca (how quaint), Sanford after his Appalachian detour to South America , Charlie Crist after he made it clear he as just an aging queen, John Ellis Bush having his liver plucked out every night during the primaries, etc
Poll it by state and see what happens. We don’t elect based on total vote.
