Three men have been criminally charged in Manhattan with possessing about 100 pages stolen from the singer Don Henley of handwritten notes and lyrics for the Eagles' blockbuster 1976 album "Hotel California."

The back story, someone (not named... woman?) managed to swipe some of Don Henley's notes and lyric sheets, way back. Later, they are sold to a collector who then tries to figure out a way to sell them... and hilarity ensues!
I like the part about claiming he got them from a deceased Glen Frey.

why would you do such a crappy song? It's not just one crappy song, it was lyrics notes for the whole crappy album.
A crappy album that is a 26 time Platinum record, with 32 million copies sold, making it number 6 on the all time best seller list.

Music was written solely by Don Felder whilst on vacation with his wife and young daughter.
Lyrics written by him, Sticks, and Coke Nose.
The latter 2 claimed most of the credit for its success.
