NYC sees odor complaints amid bathroom closures and peak public urination

The Big Apple has begun to rot this summer, by the smell of it.

There were 5,746 calls to 311 regarding the outdoor odor complaints this year through June 30, according to the New York Post. It's an increase of 54% since the first six months of 2021.

An New York Police Department spokesperson reported 280 civil summonses were issued to city residents for public urination during the first three months of this year, an increase from 169 since last year. This comes after then-Mayor Bill de Blasio decriminalized public urination in 2016. Police issued 19,456 summonses in 2015.

Meanwhile, 14% of city parks had closed their restrooms as of July 2, according to inspection data.

Despite the smell, the average rent of $5,058 per month in June is $83 higher than the average in May and $1,136 higher than the average in June 2021, according to a report from Douglas Elliman and Miller Samuel.

Typical government racketeering.

Save money by closing bathrooms without reducing the city budget...
Make it illegal to pee in public, collect fines and court fees...

That means more money for graft and to provide those lavish employee benefits.

Government greed at its finest.

And all those who pee and crap in public will pay the fines? LoL.

I guess they can count that as receivables.

Government exists to stomp on productive people who pay taxes, and to reward and ignore the transgressions of non-productive people.
