40 yards seems likely. the food court is huge. He was just a good shot.
More importantly than the shot is that with no LEO or military training he had the presence of mind to do this in 15 seconds.
A witness said that there was dead silence for a moment..probably everyone in shock before pandemonium
I have heard zero about this perp, all the other shooting in recent memory I know know every detail about the shooter.
Except for the Vegas shooter he is also an enigma.
if you look at the dead perp you can see they werent all center mass....and yes..he is damn lucky no one got caught in the cross fire
I think what happened is the first return shot disoriented him because he wasnt expecting anyone to be shooting back that fast....and that gave Hero precious seconds to finish him of
IIRC, NYPD limited their officers to 7 round mags to reduce the spray and pay lawsuits.
Nope, he took the photo of himself. See the wires and the blue lighting? In the after pic, I believe his arm with the watch is under his body or else he took it off before leaving the RR to start shooting people..
This guy came well prepared to make a show for the audience.
Does this gun carry 10 in the magazine? Or did he reload
I always laugh at Westerns and their shots with a revolver...chances of a hit at this range...not good...
He probably propped the phone on something and set a timer on the camera.
It is on security video. The cops know the dimensions of the space that it all happened in.
They do have it on tape. It was across a food court at a mall, and judging by our own mall’s food court, that 40 yards / 120 feet is not unreasonable......................
“And he did all while he was moving.”
While he was moving TOWARD the threat. A lot of people would head for cover and engage. Very brave.
Yup-— my first thought is “I suck”!! That’s the advantage of starting them young. My kids are way better shots than me!
Amen to that. One of last year's Fall projects was to push the mound of dirt left over from the excavation for the house foundation into a proper backstop for a 50 yard rifle and pistol range. Then we got punched in the face with covid. We're on track to get it done this year.
I’m fortunate. We belong to a private club with 600 acres of ranges, distances from 25 feet to 600 yards. We can set up almost any imaginable scenario and practice them as often as we want to.
It’s a sweet set up. Totally worth the $500 a year.

This dude must clank when he walks.
Our club is looking at putting in a 1,000 yard range if we can acquire the adjacent property at a reasonable price.
L
the reports are that he braced himself against a pillar. So probably first shot braced against the pillar which hit and then he started advancing.
I wish we would get to see the video but probably will never come out
these firearms people could only go out 25 yards for this news story test. It is good to see the anchor praising the Hero
