Republican leaders should be urging him to announce his 2024 presidential candidacy by Labor Day, in part to offset the resumed hearings of Pelosi's Jan. 6 panel set to be continued this September.

On the other hand we'll have the wind at our backs. Trump declares and that settles it. Wannabes won't waste their time running unless they support the democrat or run as an independent. EVERY republican running will have to address the issue in the condensed(60 day) period. Squishes exposed. Most important the lines are being drawn ahead of time like we saw in the primaries. This will really transform the party over 2 election cycles culminating with a super majority in '24. Squish them like a bug, rinos too.
No, set a 2023 date. Why allow November election to be about Trump? Republicans need the election to be solely about Biden and Harris. Trump is doing fantastic as king-maker, building a Trump-aligned party. No need to rush his announcement.
Trump could give himself an out by saying it’s 90% sure he’ll run. He could then pick his successor(VP) and suggest he might not serve out his term-acknowledging his age unlike Biden. A GOP majority in both houses would give us a 2-year DRUMROLL and a rat meltdown in the biggest way. Don’t think so? Just look at the Jan. 6 hearings that now one is paying attention to.
*No, set a 2023 date.* A GOP majority just might save the WH from themselves. It certainly helped Clinton in ‘96.
“to offset the resumed hearings of Pelosi’s Jan. 6 panel set to be continued this September.”
Are those hearings helping the Democrats? By November, the economic picture will have further deteriorated.
Those democrats who don’t quite hate him will have an alternative. Throw their hands up in frustration over Biden and go with the known alternative. I did that with ‘Mondull’ in ‘84. Never looked back.
The bringing up of this issue is strategic. Everything in politics is. Could be just a tease but at least it raises eyebrows in preparation for the main event. Torments our enemies too.
I don’t know...I wonder if Trump announcing he’s running will energize the Dems to turn out in November.
It’s a good idea because then Garland can accurately called out for trying to influence the upcoming election. I’ve heard that’s considered an impeachable offense.
So it's about winning the house and senate first...
My gut says he will NOT run and will support a Pompeo/DeSantis ticket.
A horrible idea x 1000.
I think I’d wait until after the midterms.
I don’t think it will happen, but if his endorsement picks do poorly, he would probably want to bow out.
If Dems were reliably voting Dem, Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections.
NYC now has RCV for mayoral elections for a reason.
I think it’s rude to use initials without defining their meaning.
What/who is RCV?
He doesn’t have to announce, we all know he’s running. Announcing starts the clock on donations becoming campaign contributions.
He is speaking today at Turning Point USA. What a great place to announce his candidacy.
Throw ‘Ranked Choice Voting’ in your favorite search engine for a definition.
Trump should announce that as Republican Party leader, he will be the next Speaker of the House of Representatives in January. After that, the Bidet Regime will be impeached and removed from office one way, or another. If both Joe and the Ho go, Trump returns as POTUS. So, Trump can make the midterm about the restoration of the Republic, and his presidency.
Exactly. peeling away all the useless rinos. With a big surprise to the unattentive. Don’t provide anything to aid the dems trying to rescue their idiocy. Biden is toast, and any they put in will have no traction. Strategic decision making, based on intel not privy to the msm or the chattering classes.
