No matter what achievements Russians have made in the arts and in science, their soldiers are still barbarians.

“No matter what achievements Russians have made in the arts and in science, their soldiers are still barbarians.”

I have great admiration and respect for Russia’s contributions to the arts. Russia has produced some exceptional writers and composers and musicians. As for science, Russia’s major contributions came from captured Nazi physicists and engineers. Hardly domestic. Then again, some of our top scientists fled Germany before the War (Einstein), or surrendered to US forces as Berlin fell (for instance, Werner von Braun). Robert Oppenheimer was American, born in New York (surprisingly, many people think he was German, and that we grabbed him before the end of the War).
