Former White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Thursday on CNN’s “New Day” that someone very close to former President Donald Trump must have been the FBI informant.
Keilar asked, “This is someone with knowledge inside who told the feds that there was additional material at Mar-a-Lago, directed them where it should be, clearly was concerned enough to tell them this information they should have besides the 15 boxes of material they got in the winter. Does that change your mind? Is that now sufficient when you have someone actually aligned with him drawing the attention of the feds to these documents?”
Mulvaney said, “It certainly is worthwhile and worth noting, no question. It would be valid on getting a search warrant or part of getting a search warrant. The other thing the FBI had to establish, however, was that those documents were in imminent risk of being destroyed or removed from the location. Unless they had evidence that Trump was directing people to destroy documents, and if he was doing that now, why wasn’t he doing that six months ago?”

And some of the ones who are arguably on the MAGA side, got chased out one way or another.
The feds have now had about 7 years to figure out the location of the safe. Unless it was super duper triple top secret, there doesn’t have to be a spy or snitch in their now.

I’m surprised that he’s surprised. Some thoughts:
I believe Mar-a-Lago has a SCIF. I’d be surprised if there was no safe in the SCIF.
Trump and his family seem in favor of guns — does he have a gun safe?
Trump is a rich guy and Melania dresses very well — where does he keep jewels and other special items? In a safe?
But Mulvaney is surprised to learn there was a safe?
If the FBI had found anything in the panty raid, it would have already leaked, and Garland would be crowing about it today instead of trying to cover his ass.
Since there was nothing there, the “informant” was probably a setup by PDJT to determine if it was worthwhile to continue to negotiate with the DOJ.
DOJ was exposed to every American as the new Gestapo.
I thought Kushner as soon as they said “mole.” He is kinda smarmy.

Everyone who has important papers has a safe. Like Donald Trump is the only Billionaire on the planet who has a safe. Oh the humanity.
Does Merrick Garland have a safe? Maybe he has nuclear documents in it. In fact I’m pretty sure I saw some the last time I was at his house.

If the safe was in a SCIF then only certain people, with clearances are allowed to be in there unless they’re escorted.

You can even bring phones into SCIFs, for those that have ever been in one.
One thing the warrant will do is provide the name of the snitch. And there’s a 50/50 chance that it can be proven that they lied.

I believe Eric mentioned this safe was a new safe. I am certain Trump may have more than one safe.
This safe was empty. Now that makes me chuckle.
Trump is a smart guy. I can’t imagine keeping anything the current regime may want anywhere near where I live.
