...and Wray is going to ignore Grassley, fly off in his private jet, and face no consequences whatsoever.

Let's also not forget that Wray, a long-time creature of the federal government, was appointed as FBI head by Trump, who probably felt he had no chance at appointing an outsider because both Democrats and Republicans would never agree to confirm an outsider. That's what must change in Trump's second term - if draining the swamp is ever going to happen, the swamp creatures need to be the first to go.

So, in a historical first against a sitting or former President, a politicized DOJ, during the course of a dispute over whether Trump properly unclassified documents before he tossed them in his basement, applies for a search warrant rather than a subpoena to collect alleged “confidential” documents at a President’s residence, to spark a little drama and ignite some false outrage among the Dem partisan faithful and see if they can get the media to recruit a few Independent votes for the midterms. Throw in the usual no one is above the law (other than Hillary Clinton and the upper management of the FBI) narrative to raise the dispute to the level of a perceived crime and one would think Trump stole more than $950 of merchandise from Walgreen’s.
