A President can fire the AG, and if the next guy in line is not able to be approved by the Senate...... You make the #2 man the nominee and leave the spot vacant. Call the second in command, Temporary AG. Keep him there until you can get him approved. That is a thing that Democrats would do, forcing the a man in McConnells position to bend to his will.

Yeah, that was basically what happened with Sessions and Rosenstein.

But what you’re saying is…..and what words Trump actually did….appoint a temp….the Senate has a certain amount of time to approve or not….if they don’t do either, then the appointed can stay another 6 months or so.

Isn’t that what he did with Grennel and they were having seizures over if?

Again, he learned too late.
