The state at the center of Democrats’ uphill drive to keep the House just gave the party the strongest signal yet that their fortunes might be reversing.
After a special election campaign centered on abortion rights, turnout surged Tuesday in Democratic Rep.-elect Pat Ryan’s home turf of Ulster County — the most heavily populated section of New York’s battleground 19th District. Ryan’s margins even narrowly exceeded President Joe Biden’s performance over Donald Trump’s in the county in 2020, giving him the cushion to withstand drop-off elsewhere in the district and win a bellwether race just months before the general election.

If abortion is a state by state matter then why would congress be running on state issues that belong in their state legislatures? Why would voters think abortion is a federal matter now that the Supreme Court tossed it to the states?
Don’t let these media ass*oles dispirit you. That’s what they’re trying to do. This very close special election is meaningless. Just keep organizing and fighting for November! https://t.co/QlVJjM0Ldc— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) August 24, 2022
Yes, overconfidence may doom us yet.
We need 99+% voting in order to beat the cheat.
Too bad we can’t do that turnout surge thing
It is just another place where we have failed to fight the fraud. Get involved if you live there, if you don’t live there get involved where you live. We must fight everywhere we are. If we are not there, we need to inspire folks that live there to get involved.
Wait. Democrats winning in New York is entirely expected. Moochers outnumber producers 2 to 1. Only California is worse. Dont buy this propaganda.
The story I heard was:
There have been major changes in re- districting in that area.
Molinaro was placed in the district he was in last night...
only until he could assume his REAL DISTRICT.
When Molinaro runs in his own district HE IS GUARANTEED TO WIN, it is heavily red.
This “loss” wasn’t really a loss at all.
When Liz Cheney lost last week, there was belittling from all corners of the left-wing media, I saw one calling the ones who voted for her out “clowns”. When Democrats win the special election, it’s a “renewed hope” and “red wave turning into a red trickle”. This is psychological mud slinging. Also, these Democrats ran their campaign on abortion, are you serious? That’s the major issue out of everything the Democrats have done in the past couple of years? We NEED to come out in droves this November! I despise these people with every fiber of my being.
Exactly! Where I live, "normally" only 35 to 40% of registered voters vote. THe State has done many things to make it easier to vote- and yet so many are apathetic."It won't make a difference" they say.
Our problems have been "given" to us by a majority - 21% - who are energized and vote.
By number, it should not be hard to get a majority if more like minded people as myself voted.
???? I just read reports that turn out for the NY Elections this week was at an all time low.
A Democrat holding a Democratic seat by a reduced margin is not a “surge.”
Big shot. “Large turnout” of Dem ballots aka they created a bunch of extras.
I hear people complaining all the time about things they can’t change - this is the one thing we DO have control over. I got robocalls and junkmail ads for candidates every day for a month before the primary but not one card, letter, phone call, text, or email asking if I was going to vote, and if I needed help with transportation etc. I’ll bet the results would be surprising if someone just contacted every registered Republican and urged them to vote.
Over the past almost two years, a huge number of conservatives in New York left for better states.
They voted—with their feet!
The rest of the state was just primaries.
The haven't yet or the Democrats wouldn't get 2% of the vote
Check the mail ballot drop box video.
The open slot was created when the Dem holding the position went to work for the Governor.. So it was a Dem Seat also they just redistricted the Seats.. That is why Congressman Maloney was against Nadler..
