No. The proper solution is to repeal the 17th amendment to the Constitution. Senators were intended to represent the States, and only indirectly, the people. The direct election of Senators forever changed the power balance between the States and the Feral government. The 16th amendment should also be repealed, but that's a different issue.
The Fourteenth Amendment is what changed the relationship between the stats and federal government. Our state legislatures are so corrupt that many refused to address the rigged 2020 elections in their states. Why trust them to select senators again, when they declined to select the presidential electors in the face of blatant election fraud? There is more popular support, from some men especially, to repeal the Nineteenth Amendment than to repeal the Seventeenth Amendment! There is no popular support to repeal the Seventeenth Amendment, and the idea is laughable.

Considering the last 7 years of harassment and the anemic and ineffective GOP response the question is when will the Trump Family be arrested? Who will oppose this dangerous, powerful corrupt Deep State? Why won’t they steal the 2022 election like they did the 2020? Very dangerous times ahead.

They are more afraid of retaliation from those who are blackmailing them than the voters.
