This is the first I heard of this. In earlier days, somebody with 54 homers in early September would be front page news. I guess this is an indication of how professional sports has fallen out of favor, particularly with our younger people.

Baseball hasn't recovered from the strike in 1994. The numbers keep dropping, the steroid scandal didn't save them, and going woke was just an attempt to get a bounce out of a dead cat.

The owners showed their anti-American beliefs by supporting wokeness and Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM. The should be charged for illegal campaign contributions-in-kind for running free, multi-hour commercials for the Democrats.

Baseball teams lose more and more frequently to one opponent they can't beat - Viewer Apathy.

Forget about some stick swinger beating a record; people wouldn't care if he was found dead in a hotel room with cocaine and hookers or decided to "transition" into a cat or a tree.

For me, it was the 1981 strike... haven’t watched a ball game since.

Very interesting. That is the year that I lost all interest in baseball and never looked back
