RE: Aaron Judge

Pardon my ignorance.... but...

I thought the great and recently departed Hank Aaron already surpassed Babe Ruth’s home run record.

His 755 career home runs broke the long-standing MLB record set by Babe Ruth and stood as the most for 33 years; Aaron still holds many other MLB batting records.

I always viewed that Aaron record as a little suspect, given how the Braves kept moving in the left-field fence at Fulton County Stadium in the years before he broke it.

Hank Aaron was a great player year after year and hit 755 home runs in his career, but never as many as 50 in a single season. We are talking about beating Babe Ruth's record in a single season.

Meanwhile, Albert Pujols is 5 homers short of 700 and 19 short of matching Ruth's career total of 714, also without hitting 50 in a single season. He has a good chance of reaching 700 by the end of this season but would have to play another season to reach 714 (and indications are he may retire after this season).

I got to see Hank Aaron play--but he did not hit a homer in that game (just a double).
