One of my mother’s elderly friends let a man do some handyman work in her home. Unbeknownst to the elderly widow, he unlocked a back window in her home and waited until she was gone to go back and strip her home of valuables. Nothing could be proven or done about it and she never recovered from the heartbreak that all of her husband’s war mementos, medals and watches were stolen.
FYI. Always check your windows and unused doors to be sure they are locked after anyone you are not familiar with leaves your home.
When outside people had to do work at my house I stayed with them while they worked.
You shouldn’t have “Unfamiliar” people in your home.
