As I watched the video, I was putting myself in the mom’s shoes. I’m guessing she is sobbing because of the serious issues that her son has, not so much the destruction of the home.
Then I read your comment: “In a linked story, the mom says her son is 6’2”, 270 lbs., and suffers from mental issues.”
That’s got to be really difficult. And now wondering if you are still able to give your child the help he needs or does he need to get shipped off somewhere? That’s a big 12 year-old!
I've heard about this with families who have severely autistic kids and the challenges this brings when they become grown adults but still have the cognitive development of a four year old and the accompanying frustration that autism often manifests.
The states have de-institutionalized. Getting these kids the help they need is a big deal. And difficult.
