The media is so hoping a Hurricane hits Florida. They can then blame every bit of damage to the state on DeSantis.
The stories will be non-stop as to what DeSantis has not done, or how this “poor person is without a home” all because DeSantis failed to stop the hurricane from hitting the state.

“The NOAA GFS model is showing a hurricane moving north through the Gulf “
Hurricane is at least 74 mph. I don’t see that.

There has been so little tropic development this year, just wait until the news stories next year saying how much worse it will be than this year because of globull warming.

Is this the same model that predicted an above average season?
Being a hurricane forecaster means never being reminded of past predictions.

I cant wait for the stories about the plywood shortage and price gouging, thats the best part of hurricane season. Theres something about it, the same words year after year, the familiarity...its something like (winter break) carols but in reverse.
That and the media covering the long lines of people that were surprised and had to get out at the last moment. Its almost reminiscent of (The Holiday that they wont say) and reminds you to get out spending for the upcoming "Holiday season".

But that’s 10 DAYS away! They can predict within 100 miles of the actual landfall 2-3 days ahead, but it they get one right 10 days out, it was just luck.

(Actually serious on this... if it gets into the Gulf of Mexico's bath water, any coastal area there oughta pay attention. Check back around this weekend.)

We deal with them pretty often. Unless it’s something like Michael that was a 5 and made landfall at Mexico Beach, we’ll be fine down here. A Cat 3 or 4 isn’t great, but not unusual. We know how to handle them.

Oh, noes! We're doomed!
I predict yet another nothingburger. Anyone want to place any bets?
Seems to me like the 'weather experts' are simply dying to have something, anything to report, since we've had no storms of note to date, after all their usual prognostications of doom earlier this year.
