Dr. Anthony Fauci crassly mocked “ass-backwards” restaurant patrons who removed their coronavirus masks when seated — and laughed at the absurdity of his own idea for anti-COVID-19 goggles, according to a new book.
The inside account is included by former White House spokesman Brian Morgenstern in “Vignettes & Vino” — out Oct. 25 — which calls Fauci “awful” and an “egomaniac.”
“[I]n January 2020, [Fauci] said the virus was nothing to worry about for the American people. Then in the months that followed, he said that people should not wear masks and that they were ineffective. By June or July, he had changed his tune and said everyone should be very concerned and that they should wear multiple masks — and goggles,” Morgenstern wrote.

Fauci is a perfect example of the need for term limits - NOT for elected officials, but for life-long Fed.gov bureaucrats. No one elects them, they are highly political, and they build untouchable fiefdoms within Fed.gov.

However, that was during the time when the medical establishment believed they were effective, but they were trying to keep them for themselves. It's like telling your kid that he wouldn't like the steak you're eating so he won't try to eat half of it. They even said silly things like wearing a mask wrong would be worse than not wearing it at all, which set off my BS meter.
Like everything with medicine, it is a mater of statistics and probability. What is the amount of virus in expelled droplets, how far do the travel, what are the odds of being infected, how will masks on either end reduce those odds, etc, etc. I doubt they ever did any real studies. Also, any time they come up with hard rules like "6 feet separation" or "fifteen minutes" you know they are BSing. Viruses don't have leash lengths like cartoon dogs which makes 73 inches safe but 71 inches deadly.

As a Jew I ask you not to compare Dr. Fauci with Josef Mengele. To give the devil his due, Mengele was handsome whilst Fauci is butt ugly at any age. Also, Dr. Mengele used one of the twins as a control for his evil experiments. Fauci wanted everyone to have the jab so there would be no controls, although the Negro population wisely avoided the jab(s) and served as a sort of de facto control.

OK, so Mengele was a better scientist than Fauci. Interesting point. Beyond that, though, they worked from the same mindset and absolutely deserve to be compared.
