Has Anyone Followed the Inspector Morse Series? Inspector Morse, Lewis, and Endeavour? Thoughts?
I have been overwhelmed with the series. to the point that I have purchased the DVDS. I have never felt television to fit. this fits.
your take?
Loved them. My favorite was Dalziel and Pascoe.
I am from that part of the world - North East England and sometimes I have trouble understanding him. LOL!

I thought I would like Midsomer Murders, but watched a few and didn’t like them.
I watched the Dark Winds series. I liked it, mainly because I liked McClarnan. Glad to hear it’s coming back…
One thing I notice in almost all current cop shows… almost everything gets solved with surveillance video, or you have a kooky kid working the computer and occasionally hacking into databases he/she isn’t supposed to access.
I like the series that don’t rely on that so much.
The shows are better than Grantchester, which from what I've seen has gone in big for political correctness. Inspector George Gently also turned out to be a PC guru far ahead of his time in 1960s Tyneside. The problem with series that go on and on is that you forget where you stopped watching, and when you get a new set you are often disappointed that you've seen it before and know who the murderers are.
It seems like everyone in showbiz, especially British showbiz, is either related to everyone else or has been married or in a relationship with everyone else. It's a little like the Mafia or the Nomenklatura.
I tried watching a random Midsomers Murder episide and I did not like it. After reading that a premise is that the villages are suppose to not be normal, I tried again with the first episode, “The Killings at Badger’s Deift “ I got hooked after that.

I like McClaran too. He's good in just about anything he does. He was in AMC's two season western drama series "The Son" with Pierce Brosnan. I just checked his filmography on IMdB and he's recently worked on five new movies.
I just wish the English could clearly speak English.

I’ve lost a lot of high-frequency response in my ears, so high pitched female voices with an English accent are essentially unintelligible.
I watch them with closed captioning turned on.
I stream Endeavour on my Amazon tablets thru Amazon Prime.
Not only quietly spoken, but very poor audio recording systems. Lucas was not only the prince of darkness...
The sound on a lot of American films is lousy, too; at least on television. I’m constantly turning up and down the volume, and my hearing is good.
