Many, perhaps most, of those Neocon supporters have DIRECT connections to Ukraine, as they’ve said as much (family, meeting Zelensky, etc.).
That is what I had surmised. If there is a connection, then they value interest of Ukraine ABOVE what is in interest of United States.
