“We won’t eat bread made with workers’ blood.”

A boycott of companies affiliated with SPC Group, Korea’s leading food company, has been gaining momentum after a 23-year-old worker died on the floor of a bread factory affiliated with SPC on Saturday. The disastrous event seems to have catalyzed citizens’ anger over the company’s continuous violations of labor rights, including illegal dispatches and unfair labor practices, despite it being a large company that produces and sells food products familiar to consumers.

A list of SPC affiliate brands has been spreading on online communities and social media like Twitter and Facebook. An image that was retweeted more than 16,000 times as of Tuesday features the logos of bakery and dessert brands, such as Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin’ Donuts, Shany, and Samlip, as well as restaurants and coffee brands, including Shake Shack and Caffe Pascucci. Terms such as “SPC Boycott” and “No-buy movement” are also trending on Twitter.

Endless interminable blather in the article with absolutely no content about all the whooping and hollering. Finally, in an inter-alia note it is the worker, a female, got her uniform snagged in equipment and got turned into a tasty baguette. The Koreans are past masters at taking an instance of the normal problems of life in qa heavily industrialized country and turning it into the crime of the millenium. I recall some children coming to a bad end being squashed by a US heavy equipment transporter moving a tank to a maneuver area, The kids family and the whole village were positively giddy at the anticipation of the dollar manna from heaven and kept the screeching up for many days demanding more and more dollars US to assuage their horrid lose. Anti-American politicians hurried to the scene to get in on the act, The US was far to nice and didn’t say, this how much we will pay and you can go f yourselves. Oh no, after groveling it was ordered if HETs were ever to menace the roads of the republic jeeps must proceed them and outriders would have to warn the menaced populace as the ‘monster trucks’ as the yellow press called the vehicles slowed to a snails pace while moving through towns or villages.

Korean businesses are as greedy as Scrooge so I don’t doubt worker safety is not a big on their agendas but the unions and workers are just as greedy and monumentally hysterical in the bargain.
