Playing at War in Ukraine - Col. Douglas Macgregor
Judging Freedom ^ | October 25, 2022 | Col. Douglas Macgregor

Unfortunately, I think there is serious planning going on about the use of U.S. forces in Ukraine. I think it is very dangerous. I think it is ill conceived but, it's going on.

Preserving Thousands of Years of Human Progress or Forcing the Donbas to Stay in Ukraine?

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2022-10-22/neocons-stop-funding-ukraine

There has never been a time in human history when such an abundance of pleasures have been on-demand to people of nearly all income brackets. The wealthiest kings throughout history couldn’t have imagined the seemingly simple activities many take for granted today.

So my message to Neocons (and Dems if any read ZH) is simple:

STOP FU**ING GAMBLING THE FRUITS OF 4000+ YEARS OF HUMAN PROGRESS OVER A CONFLICT WE INSTIGATED REGARDING WHICH CORRUPT REGIME GETS TO GOVERN A SHITTY EASTERN REGION IN UKRAINE (against the democratic will of said region).

I’d like to continue enjoying my life. I’d like to have kids one day who can enjoy theirs. Hell… I’m happy just seeing random people whom I don’t know enjoying life too.

Peace. Compromise. Diplomacy.

These words must get through the thick skulls of Mitch McConnell, Dan Crenshaw, and Lindsay Graham. In a small glimmer of hope, Ted Cruz (a cowardly man who’ll say anything to appease his constituents), initially cheered American intervention in the war.

The White House is confirming the polling on the subject first, after the Media softens up the sheeple.

Have there been wars lately where American blood has not been spilled?

A while back Francis Fukayama claimed that we were near the End of History. But in that same book he also claimed that there were two political models that appeared to work regardless of moral implications: either democracy or autocracy with relatively free markets.

Basically he thought that either something like what was happening in the US or something like what was happening in China could work. He was optimistic that over time the autocracies would morph into democracies, but he didn't make a good case for this happening.

The war in Ukraine appears to be yet another attempt to force an autocracy into a democracy, with the added confusion that we are told that what is really going on is preventing a democracy from reverting to an autocracy.

There are so many lies piled upon lies with regard to this war that it appears that we are sleepwalking into another world war.

The assassination of a Hapsburg should not have led to WWI. The Treaty of Versailles should not have been constructed to lead to WWII. The expansion of NATO should not have gotten to the point where we are now faced with WWIII.

Yet it appears this is what is going to happen.

It is happening again. The neocon war freaks use the lesson of the last war (appeasing Hitler) when the real lesson is August 1914.

This administration is slowly backing this country into a corner it wont be able to get out of easy.

Supporting an ethnic war in a region that can be buttoned up by simply blocking off a strait-Bosphorus.

Then, ignoring a region that is of vital interest-the pacific rim.

I wonder if these ignorant worthless pukes have ever got a world map out and took a long look at how close this country is to Russia in the Pacific Rim.

The SPR is at a historical low level. Russia damages the oil pipeline in Alaska and what does anyone think will happen?

One bomb..that is all that would take.

Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out why they are concerned about The Ukraine.
Mo money, mo money, mo money.

Every single drop of moral authority in possession of the US govt. fits in a thimble. For it be acting as World Police is reckless and absurd.

No one seems to be talking much about this, but there are parallels between the situation in Ukraine and Iraq.

There were suggestions that a solution to the continued violence in Iraq could be resolved by splitting Iraq into three countries: Kurdish, Sunni, and Shia.

However, only the Kurdish and Shia parts had oil. All that the Sunni would be left with was a big city in the desert.

If Ukraine cedes the Russian part of Ukraine to Russia, then they will be abandoning much of their industry. If they give Russia everything it wants, then they will no longer have a coastline.

There is all this lofty talk of human rights, freedom, etc. but no talk of the practicalities of what a divided Ukraine would mean.

This is another sign to me that the West still isn't serious about wanting peace. If they were, then they would be talking about helping to finance the development of industry and manufacturing in the Ukrainian part of Ukraine.

This suggests to me that the West has secretly resolved on an all or nothing strategy that will ultimately lead to nothing... after everything has been blown to bits.

Your fears are unfounded. Our top scientists now say that nuclear weapons do not produce radioactive fallout, and are not really the scary weapons we were led to believe.

Never know quite how to take this guy. If he is right, then Russia will launch a large scale offensive and some nato country troops including US troops will confront them sometime in November/December. It seems doubtful to me. But we shall see.

So he’s clueless then.

Russia is likely going to be falling back for the winter... They are currently receiving a massive premium on their energy exports to the tune of over $337 Billion this year, a 38% rise over last year despite pipeline woes and selling less fuel than usual. They will use this pause in their invasion activities to “negotiate” with EU countries who have been cheating on the sanctions from the beginning and are anxious to keep their people from freezing in the cold and having their economies whither on the vine.

Victory will be declared, Zelinsky and his neo-Nazi band of misfits will walk away with $Billions. The Ukrainian people already the poorest in Eastern Europe will be poorer.

Next Spring Putin will take whatever actions he feels like, and the Europeans and the US will do basically nothing about it as long as the Russians stay within the boundaries of Ukraine that contain mostly Russian speaking people who actually want them there. Hopefully that is how this farce will fizzle out. Commies think long term and typically eventually get what they want.
