“Before you “phase out” ANYTHING, you come up with a TRIED, WORKABLE alternative - FIRST.”

When the automobile was invented the government didn’t go out and shoot everyone’s horses.

But the main difference is we have “experts” and “authorities” who are the most noble, wisest, intelligent and virtuous of all beings who have lived in the 3.7 billion years of life on this planet.

It’s true, they said so themselves.

These Europeans don’t want replacements for ICEs. They want the middle class dependent on government mass transit. Private autos will only be for wealthy elites who can afford the exorbitant initial cost and the exorbitant cost of electricity for charging them.

Let’s help them get there faster ... let’s stop importing/ buying their BMWs and Mercedes (new or used) now.

“EU to phase out new combustion engine cars by 2035”

Talk is cheap. This will never happen. This is just another Greenie-hack talking point. To keep them re-elected and feeding at the trough.

The quantity of metal required to make just one generation of renewable tech units to replace fossil fuels, is much larger than first thought. Current mining production of these metals is not even close to meeting demand. Current reported mineral reserves are also not enough in size. Most concerning is copper as one of the flagged shortfalls. Exploration for more at required volumes will be difficult, with this seminar addressing these issues.

All this phase out of combustion autos is not going to turn out well. It might be a good idea to purchase several old cars of the same make and model. That way you will have spare parts. I think I will get some nice land yachts. Something with classic style, and says American power.

They don’t need anyone elected at the EU level. The Commission has all the power, and they’re loyal to Berlin. The EU Parliament is just a rubber stamp for the Commission; it doesn’t even have any power to write laws (which the EU calls “directives” or “regulations” depending on how strict they deem them).

Land yachts are awesome. Their engines are way less susceptible to any problems from a possible EMP attack too.

Think horse poop is bad, try dead horses. Dead horses were common before the advent of ICE. The rich had clout and money to keep their streets clean but everyone else had to hold their nose to walk the streets of ANY large city.

At least when a ICE is dead it doesn’t pose an health threat to the city.

Horse poop, after composting w/ hay, is one of the best natural fertilizers anywhere, short of chemicals.

Indeed so. But never underestimate the left’s capacity for hyperbole and propaganda . . . you know, all that “methane” and whatnot . . .

Oh, the left will think of something. Perhaps rust, or mold on the interior after a car sits for a month outside, or who knows what else . . .

Let’s test this plan first.

RI is a small state. Ban IC engines in the entire state by 2025 and evaluate the results. This includes cars, trucks, farm equipment, construction equipment, mowers, busses, motorcycles, trains, … everything.

Horses are also dangerous. I know autos have bad crashes but before autos many people people were kicked, trampled on, rolled over on etc. Particularly bad for small children who were not cautious around a horse. Best trained horse can and will be spooked by something or just plain trip and fall. The number of injuries when horses were in common use is much higher than most realize.

If Commiefornia and the EU stick with their year 2035 pledges, lots and lots of folks will be buying ICE cars in 2033 and 2034.

I’m believing that all the “bad gas” is from them, and not from cows etc.

It is amazing how many people on this planet lack critical thinking skills.

Example: California governor says “buy electric cars.” Two days later, he says don’t plug em in because we ain’t got enough to power.

You can’t make this stuff up!

Huge mistake eliminating the internal combustion car, what are these European Vegetables thinking.

The Internal Combustion engine is the best engine ever invented and there have been many improvements made to the internal combustion engine.

So many inventions have been made to the Internal Combustion car that you can not mention it on this forum.

For example, tires is just one to mention and every year someone will come up with new tires developed.
